Conduction
Conduction is heat transfer through direct molecular interaction within a solid or stationary fluid. Energy passes from high-temperature molecules to adjacent lower-temperature molecules without bulk material movement.
Fourier's Law governs steady-state conduction, with thermal conductivity determining how easily a material conducts heat. Metals are excellent conductors, while materials like aerogel and ceramic fiber serve as effective insulators.
